It’s debatable, although most people side with the SEC.
What can’t be debated is that the SEC’s coaches are the best paid.

In USA Today’s annual database of coaching salaries, nine of the league’s coaches are among the 25 best-paid, including four among the top 10.
Alabama’s Nick Saban is tops on the list with a total 2014 salary of $7,160,187.
Texas A&M’s Kevin Sumlin ($5,006,000) if fourth, LSU’s Les Miles ($4,369,582) is seventh and South Carolina’s Steve Spurrier ($4,016,900) is 10th. Of the 13 coaches listed – Vanderbilt is exempt from providing salary information – Kentucky’s Mark Stoops is the lowest paid in the SEC with $2,701,600.

Led by Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio ($5,636,145), the Big Ten also had four coaches within the top 10 and five in the top 25. The Big 12 had the second-most among the top 25 with six with Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops third-highest with $5,058,333.
FSU’s Jimbo Fisher is the ACC’s highest-paid coach, checking in at No. 14 on the list with $3,591,667.
The USA Today list includes all 128 FBS progams, although there are no salary numbers for seven coaches and their schools.
