With the new DLC, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl saw the aforementioned Teenage Robot’s Jenny Wakeman’s inclusion. Jenny was one of, if not the most requested character, so her inclusion shows that the developers listen to the games’ fans. Alongside Jenny was the revelation that two other downloadable characters are on the way: Hugh Neutron from The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, and Rocko Rama from Rocko’s Modern Life. Both these characters were just as heavily requested as Jenny, so fans have a lot to look forward to.

Hugh and Rocko’s Game Counterparts
As Jenny’s gameplay indicates, the character movesets in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl are heavily inspired by said characters’ home series. Jenny is both a robot and a superhero, so her moveset is one of the most bombastic and reference-heavy in the game. If the game decides to treat its DLC characters with the glamor Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gave its own DLC characters, then people can expect Hugh and Rocko to be as treated as well as Jenny, whose model and stage reflect My Life as a Teenage Robot’s memorable art style better than anyone could have expected.
Hugh Neutron covers a niche that is associated with another character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Nigel Thornberry. Both are their respective shows’ goofy fathers of protagonists with several eccentricities. Additionally, their memetic lines contributed to the popularity of Wild Thornberrys and especially Jimmy Neutron-related nostalgia.
Hugh will most likely have an unorthodox moveset like Nigel. However, Hugh’s playstyle might be even more random. While Nigel is kooky, he is also an exceptional zoologist and his moves are, predictably, all based on animals. Hugh is, for all intents and purposes, a typical bumbling dad. If Jimmy never makes it, there is a chance that players will get to see Hugh use some of his son’s inventions in battle, but there is no way to accurately tell what the team will do with such a peculiar character.
Rocko is the oddball of his home series, as in he stands out for being “ordinary” compared to his quirkier peers. His move set will likely be balanced and “basic,” similar to SpongeBob or Aang. Since he’s a wallaby, there are easy attacks to put in Rocko’s move set like superior jumping abilities, kicks, and tail attacks.
His dog Spunky could also show up, similar to GIR’s role in Zim’s moveset, or Ren and Stimpy being two characters in one. Due to Rocko’s straight man status and his home series being among the zanier and most cartoonish Nicktoons, combined with a lack of iconic items like some of his contemporaries, his move set is tricky to decipher. However, as mentioned above, it is safe to assume that he will be a jack of all trades.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl players can expect to see Hugh this summer and Rocko this fall. They can be confident that the developers will do these characters justice. If they can watch every episode of the 1980s Ninja Turtles cartoon for the perfect April design, then researching smaller shows for ideas can be done without breaking a sweat. Jenny’s release confirms it.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
