Since the early days of the platform, NICKMERCS has been a part of Twitch. Known for playing many types of first-person shooters over the years, such as Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends, he has gained an impressive community of gamers known as the MFAM. Following his success on the platform, the popular content creator has given back to his MFAM community in many ways, such as doing cash giveaways, holding a massive BBQ for his fans, and giving his teammates gold chains. With the holiday season approaching, he wants to help those that are struggling financially in his hometown.

While some people might already be looking towards Christmas, NICKMERCS has his sights set on Thanksgiving. During a recent live stream, the content creator told fans about his upcoming project to give back to those in need. According to the streamer, he plans to feed thousands of homeless people over the Thanksgiving holiday.
While chatting with his Twitch viewers, NICKMERCS detailed his plan for giving back to those living around Detroit, Michigan, the area where he grew up. In order to feed those in need, his team bought 1,000 turkeys. They then found a location to serve the food and reserved a time for people to pick up the meals. He noted that his team notified many of the charity organizations in the area as well. “What we did was we went to the boys and girls clubs, homeless shelters, and a bunch of other places for people in need,” he said.
Besides his own efforts, NICKMERCS revealed that his team played a pivotal role in setting up this charity event. Specifically, he noted that his father had been instrumental in planning the project. Furthermore, he revealed that he didn’t want the event to be community-based. According to the streamer, he was afraid that making the charity project a community-based event would make it more difficult for those in need to get a meal. His reasoning behind this was that fans would inevitably show up. “I had this thought of someone needing a meal that day, but they had to weave around people with a sharpie and t-shirt waiting to meet me,” he said.
It’s exciting to see Twitch stars giving back to the communities that helped them get where they are today. It will be interesting to see what the popular streamer NICKMERCS has planned next once he finishes supplying meals for Thanksgiving.
