In the Forbes list of the top-earning video games, Ninja is number one after making $17 million in 2019. Ninja’s earnings in the report come from his deals with Red Bull, an underwear brand, and Adidas, who he has his own shoe with. It had been suggested that Mixer paid Ninja $20 million to stream on the site but this does not appear to have been used for the Forbes list.

If Forbes had used Ninja’s rumored Mixer payment, it would have put a much larger gap between him and PewDiePie, who is in second place. PewDiePie made $15 million in 2019 from 4.5 billion views on his YouTube channel. He has also made money from his popular mobile games. However, the YouTuber has announced that he will be taking a break and this could potentially affect his earnings and leave him further down the top earner list for 2020.

Minecraft YouTuber Preston is in third place as he made $14 million in 2019 by posting videos and hosting servers. Markiplier also made $14 million by making YouTube videos and having a deal to make a YouTube Originals film called A Heist with Markiplier. Shroud, a streamer who has also moved to Mixer from Twitch, made $12.5 million in 2019 and Minecraft YouTuber DanTDM made $12 million. VanossGaming made $11.5 million from YouTube and Jacksepticeye made $11 million from YouTube.

The ninth and tenth place earners are also streamers. TimTheTatman and Nickmercs are hugely popular and have signed exclusive deals with Twitch. TimTheTatman made $8 million in 2019 and Nickmercs made $6 million.

The 2020 list could potentially look much different if it uses more data about exclusive streaming deals. After Ninja moved to Mixer, several other streamers also began to move around. Twitch streamer Disguised Toast left for Facebook Gaming, and some streamers have moved to YouTube from Twitch. Some of these streamers have thousands of followers and they likely got a huge amount of money for choosing to move. The 2019 version of the list may have some very famous names on it, but with some smart deals, some new names could get on the list in 2020.
