Ninjala offers a few different ways for players to have fun together, with both local and online support. Thankfully, there are very few barriers to entry here and it seems that GungHo Online wanted to make the game very accessible to as many people as possible.

Players who’ve downloaded this free game have two main methods of playing with friends. The first is to invite a friend (they must be registered as a Nintendo Account friend) by using the invitations feature found at the base, while the second involves inviting those friends to a Room Battle.

There are a couple of things that users should know about Ninjala’s incredibly accessible multiplayer. First of all, the game itself is free, meaning anyone that has a Nintendo Switch can download it and jump straight into the fun. What’s more, the game does not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play, meaning there is no financial requirement whatsoever. Even though Nintendo Switch Online is only $20 for an annual subscription, this is a very nice feature to include for those still holding out on subscribing and allows friends to play together very easily.

While all of this is great, there are some areas in which Ninjala’s online play is somewhat lacking. For one, Ninjala doesn’t feature any kind of voice chat features, meaning players will need to turn to other methods in order to communicate with each other online. Additionally, Ninjala does not offer any form of multiplayer in its story packs, so fans will be stuck with just the online multiplayer game modes. That said, there’s still plenty to explore and enjoy despite these limitations, so it isn’t really anything to worry about.

The final thing that fans should be aware of is which server to play on. Each region has a specific Ninjala server and unless players are on the same server they won’t be able to play with each other. These regions are typically countries, meaning that this will only be a problem for friends playing overseas with each other. This can be avoided by changing the regional settings on one’s Nintendo Account.

Ninjala is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
