The first images of the collection were posted to Twitter today by the official Levi’s account. For fans who are interested in more subtle Mario references, the collection features overalls with coins spilling out of the back pocket. For those who want to really go all out there, there are jeans, shorts, and shirts that are completely plastered with iconic Super Mario characters. This will be the perfect outfit for the fans who desperately want a Mario Movie.

The first images of the collaboration were released in honor of Mario day, which falls on March 10th or MAR10 every year. While it’s yet to be recognized as a federal holiday, March 10th is a day for celebrating all things related to the iconic video game character, who has appeared in over 200 games. And some brands are paying attention, Target has some huge discounts on Mario games for fans who want to get into the holiday spirit.
The collaboration will be officially dropping April 1st. This being April Fools Day may make it seem like an elaborate prank, but the clothing should be available soon. Plus, it would be quite a lot of effort for a very silly pay off, and considering the fan reaction, not releasing the line at this point would be leaving money on the table. Not to mention, video game companies have a less than stellar record with pranks, with Microsoft going so far as to ban April Fools day pranks all together, so it’s unlikely that Nintendo would risk it.
This is not the only Super Mario collaboration that’s been announced today. Many fans are excited about the Super Mario LEGO sets that are coming out. Mario Players are getting excited about the future, dreaming of a day when they can build some Super Mario Legos while dressed head to toe in some fresh Super Mario gear.
The Super Mario Levi’s Collaboration will be available on April 1st.
