Nintendo’s presence at gamescom will be headlined by Super Mario Odyssey, which stands as the crown jewel of the company’s Nintendo Switch holiday lineup. Game producer Yoshiaki Koizumi will host a livestream presentation of Super Mario Odyssey on August 23rd at 8am Pacific time, and those in attendance will have a chance to try out the game’s Metro Kingdom and Sand Kingdom levels.
The second Nintendo game getting a special gamescom livestream presentation is Metroid: Samus Returns for the Nintendo 3DS. The Metroid presentation will take place the following day on August 24th at 5am Pacific time, and will be hosted by producer Yoshio Sakamto and creative director Jose Luis Marquez.
Besides Super Mario Odyssey and Metroid: Samus Returns, other Nintendo titles will be present at gamescom as well. While specific dates and times haven’t been revealed by Nintendo just yet, fans can expect to see more of both Fire Emblem Warriors and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 once gamescom kicks off later this month.
Along with these titles, Nintendo is bringing a slew of other games to gamescom 2017. Those lucky enough to be in attendance will be able to get their hands on Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Pokken Tournament DX for the Nintendo Switch, as well as the 3DS games Monster Hunter Stories and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions.
While gamescom isn’t quite the spectacle that is E3, this year’s show should be exciting for Nintendo fans. The Big N is bringing its biggest games to the table, and it will be interesting to see if any new information on these titles is revealed at the show. For those that want to keep track of all the gamescom 2017 happenings, the show will take place from August 22nd to August 26th in Cologne, Germany.
Nintendo’s Super Mario Odyssey will launch on October 27th, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
