Nintendo’s eShop sale spans both the Switch and the 3DS and focuses primarily on games featuring Smash Bros. characters, though there are several other games on sale that have nothing whatsoever to do with Nintendo’s landmark fighting series. The featured Switch games include:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Splatoon 2 Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Gold Edition Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus Fire Emblem Warriors Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers
As for the 3DS, it’s not just 3DS games on sale, but virtual console classics too.
Metroid: Samus Returns The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Earthbound Wario Land 3 Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Star Fox 64 3D Mega Man X F-Zero Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World Mario Party: The Top 100 Super Punch Out!! Street Fighter Alpha 2 Kirby: Planet Robobot Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D Mega Man Legacy Collection Theatrythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome Amiibo Miitopia Paper Mario: Sticker Star Xenoblade Chronicles 3D Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters Hey! Pikmin Sega 3D Classics Collection
The list goes on for both the Switch and the 3DS, but these are the titles that Nintendo has put emphasis on. It’s quite a large selection of games to put on sale all at once, but it’s not too considering that Nintendo is doing this at least partially as a Smash Bros. promotion. Since Super Smash Bros. Ultimate features literally every character past and present, it only makes sense that they’d have to put a lot of games on offer.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate wasn’t the only Nintendo game to get attention at this year’s E3, but with it’s massive roster and the long-awaited arrival of Ridley as a character, it’s probably the one fans are most excited about. The game isn’t out until December, so perhaps it’s a good thing that some of Nintendo’s best games are on sale right now.
