While there have been free games offered by gaming companies during the pandemic, many will be surprised that Nintendo has offered a completely new title for free without any marketing beforehand. It seems that the game has been developed during lockdown to give players a way to exercise and for many, this may be helpful.

The game, entitled Jump Rope Challenge, can be played with two joy-con controllers or one if you’re playing with a friend. Players simply need to jump rope with the game; the title is very simple and it was made by a small Nintendo team who were working remotely. Nonetheless, players will welcome the opportunity to jump rope up to one hundred times a day especially as it shows a player’s statistics so they can see how they improve. The game is available on the Switch Eshop for a limited time, concluding in September, so players may want to grab the title while it is free.
The avatars for the game are cute bunnies and many players will appreciate the aesthetic qualities of the free title. While there have been bigger games released as part of play at home initiatives many players will welcome games of any kind as they isolate from others. It will be interesting to see if players get any physical benefits from the game or if it simply acts as a positive way to warm up for the day. Either way, this seems to be a welcome addition to the vast library of games that are available on the Nintendo Switch.
Alongside games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons that is helping people socialize during self-isolation, it seems that Nintendo is becoming a popular brand during these turbulent times. Jump Rope Challenge appears to be a great way to keep players entertained and many will hope that Nintendo will continue to deliver content for players experiencing coronavirus restrictions.
Jump Rope Challenge is available for the Nintendo Switch now.
