With so many spin-offs and games already available within the Pokemon universe, it isn’t exactly surprising that Nintendo is asking fans their opinions on which titles they prefer. It’s not unheard of for a gaming company to ask for feedback from its player base in a survey. For example, back in April, Activision Blizzard held a controversial survey asking fans what they thought of the inclusion of NFTs in gaming.

It seems the recent Pokemon survey is attempting to be slightly less controversial as it simply asks fans what kinds of games they want to play in the future. First spotted on the subreddit for Pokemon Mystery Dungeons, the one question highlighted by user SpaceEV gives fans seven options, with five of those specifically referring to different directions the Pokemon franchise could go. This survey is accessible for those who are signed up to receive My Nintendo promotions and newsletters, though not everyone may have received an invite to complete it.

The first option to answer the question about what Pokemon fans want to see in the future refers to a game similar in nature to Pokemon GO. The second choice discusses an open-world adventure similar to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which contrasts with the fourth box that asks fans whether they want a more traditional style of Pokemon game with a linear structure. Something that fans may find puzzling is the lack of mention of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which saw incredible success when it released earlier this year.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus did not appear in the question posted by SpaceEV, but the Reddit user did state that it was mentioned in a previous question within the survey. It is interesting that Nintendo appears to be actively requesting fan feedback to see what Pokemon players want to see for the future of the franchise. Whether this survey will actually sway the company on what games to make next is unknown, but many are hoping to see a new Pokemon Mystery Dungeons or remake soon.
