Effective August 12, the new suggested retail price for the Nintendo 3DS will be $169.99 - an $80 dollar drop for a system that has only been on North American store shelves for four months, and one that broke some opening day sales records. Sensitive to the – how shall we put this – lack of enthusiasm with which the majority of current 3DS owners would likely receive this news, Nintendo has gone all-in to reward early adopters (Nintendo refers to them as Ambassadors) with twenty free downloadable games....

Discovered by Resetera user Link83, the FCC filing reveals plans for a wireless SNES-like controller for the Nintendo Switch. The filing states that this controller will have bluetooth capability and its model number - HAC-042 - is in line with other Nintendo Switch controllers. The Nintendo Switch’s model number is HAC-001, while the wireless NES controllers are HAC-033 and HAC-034 respectively. he filing references the controller as simply “wireless game device,” but the image found in the document looks so much like an SNES controller that it’s unlikely to be anything else....

Without listing every detail of the new guideline, the basic idea is that anyone can livestream or create videos featuring Nintendo content and can also monetize that content so long as it’s done in a legal fashion. Nintendo, of course, reserves the right to make the final call on all content publication. Authorized monetization, for the time being, will be limited to specific platforms including Twitch, Youtube, Facebook, and others....

One of the larger focal points brought up in conversations, as of late, is the lack of first party support for the 3DS on launch day. The only Nintendo-made title that has been confirmed to launch with the system is Nintendogs + Cats, but where are the Zeldas and Marios we were hoping to purchase on day one? According to NeoGaf, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata stated that the reason Nintendogs is the only first party game at launch is because Nintendo feels that the software that comes pre-installed on the 3DS is similar in comparison to that of Wii Sports....

The development history of Pikmin 4 is strange and rather unique, but it’s good to see that the series is finally moving again. The teaser trailer and accompanying screenshots gave fans precious little to go off of. A clock on a tiny fence could indicate that something is changing with the day cycle, and the new low camera angle could suggest that Pikmin 4 is open world. No one knows for sure yet, but in the meantime the old games are still around to help kill time....

The Nigerian Football Federation launched the country’s kits for the championship in London on Wednesday.
