Speaking to Business Insider, Blevins explains that they were unhappy that Twitch “did not listen to [them]” when the parties were negotiating a new contract. The contract would have put limits on how much Ninja could have grown his brand, and “he wouldn’t have been able to grow his brand much outside of gaming.” Since leaving Twitch, Ninja has signed a major deal with sportswear maker Adidas and this is the type of deal that Ninja may have not been able to take on had he signed a new contract with Twitch....

That’s why gamers are concerned with Nintendo’s upcoming venture. Recently, the company announced that it would be getting into the mobile gaming business with game publisher DeNA. According to the announcement, the two will be developing original games based on Nintendo’s existing IP (including “iconic” characters from their roster) rather than porting games over, and they hope to release the first one this fall. Given DeNA’s history with releasing free to play games, it’s likely that their Nintendo games will be free to play too, but fans are worried that the games will be designed to grab their cash instead of being fun....

The biggest Nintendo news to come out of December was likely the special Nintendo Direct focused on Super Nintendo World, hosted by Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto. During the 15-minute presentation, Miyamoto revealed a range of exciting Super Nintendo World attractions and experiences, including exclusive food and merchandise options. In particular, Miyamoto showed off giant wristbands known as Power-Up Bands that activate secrets hidden throughout the area. While the bands had been stated to have some kind of amiibo functionality, Nintendo had not previously clarified exactly what that would do....

The recently-released Game Builder Garage is a Nintendo Switch-exclusive suite of creative tools focused on letting amateur game developers easily and quickly create games. The suite offers all the tools needed to create new game experiences or re-create existing ones, and some Nintendo fans are paying tribute to their favorite games by making versions of them in Game Builder Garage. This week, Internet sleuths noted that Nintendo, Pokemon series developer Game Freak, and Creatures, Inc. (a developer affiliated with The Pokemon Company) have jointly filed a new trademark for something called “monpoké.” The trademarked term is also accompanied by a logo which features four differently colored Poke Balls on a white background. There is a red/white Poke Ball (the default coloring), as well as a green/blue Poke Ball, an orange/yellow Poke Ball, and a pink/purple Poke Ball....

The development and release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land seems to be a long time coming. Though many of Nintendo’s more popular video game franchises such as Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda took precedence when it came to titular releases in the past years, launching the newest Kirby game in time for its 30th anniversary is likely a marketing strategy to draw in both old and new players into the series....

As a Nintendo 64 game, Star Fox 64’s game files were heavily compressed in order to properly fit on the cartridge. Because of this, the game’s graphics, audios, and other features weren’t quite as clear as they should have been, resulting in grainy visuals and scratchy audio. Nintendo has revealed a blue Nintendo Switch Lite, set to launch on May 21 for $199.99. Nintendo made the announcement on its various social media channels, and fans seem to have reacted positively to the new color so far. Nintendo is launching this new Switch Lite color alongside the Miitopia Switch port, so those in the market for a Switch may be tempted to pick up the new Switch Lite alongside the game....

Unfortunately, aside from acknowledging that at some point the Wii U will support two tablet controllers, Nintendo made no mention of what type of price point gamers could be looking at. Thankfully, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has come out to give us a better idea of what types of pricing his is looking at, and it’s really good news. Obviously the Nintendo 3DS launch, and subsequent price drop, was a learning experience for Nintendo, and they plan to use the lessons learned from that launch in regards to the Wii U....

Recently, Nintendo released a statement regarding Pokemon GO’s success and the actual impact that it would have on the company. In it, Nintendo informs fans that it only owns 32% of The Pokemon Company, something that means that Pokemon GO’s success can only have limited impact on Nintendo’s profits....

Nintendo has released a slew of new trailers for the game, showing that the cow milking feature in the 1-2 Switch announcement trailer is just one of the many weird and wonderful games the title has to offer. In one mini-game, the Nintendo Switch turns into a crying baby and players must cradle the console’s portable tablet in their arms until it falls asleep. Just like in real-life (as many new parents can attest to), the baby may start crying almost as soon as the 1-2 Switch player puts the console down, so although there isn’t much to the mini-game it could still provide a challenge....
