As reported by Ars Technica, citing NPD sales results, the NES Classic sold a whopping 196,000 units in the United States in the month of November. In Japan, the retro console redo was even more popular, with Nintendo managing to sell 261,000 units in the company’s home country. By comparison, the Wii U sold 220,000 units in the US over the six month period from April to September, which is abysmal compared to how the NES Classic is flying off the shelves....

Nintendo New York re-opened August 7 on a reservation basis, with customers able to shop for 30-minute intervals between limited periods of time on Tuesdays through Sundays. Mercedes is set to deal a knockout blow to speculation it might replace Nico Rosberg with Fernando Alonso in 2015. When the Alonso rumours first emerged in Barcelona two weeks ago, team chairman Niki Lauda insisted Mercedes has “long term contracts” with both German Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. Rosberg, son of 1982 world champion Keke, joined Mercedes from Williams in 2010. Rumors emerged Thursday that Donovan has requested a designated player deal from Real Salt Lake and another team in the Eastern Conference. Donovan retired from the sport after the 2014 season but came back during the LA Galaxy’s 2016 campaign. While he won’t return to the Galaxy, Donovan looks to be in talks with a pair of MLS teams.
