This is according to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, who spoke in a recent interview about the company’s E3 showing. In the interview, Reggie was asked why Nintendo didn’t discuss any of its new mobile games, like the upcoming Animal Crossing game, for instance, and why the 3DS was only really given love during the Treehouse presentation. Overall, Reggie’s explanation as to why the Nintendo Switch was favored so heavily at E3 when compared to the company’s other products makes sense....

Even though the system is officially retired, Nintendo has continued to drop random updates for the 3DS on occasion. The latest example of this took place this week, with a new firmware update now available that brings the handheld’s system up to version 11.16.0-48. In typical Nintendo fashion, though, what the update actually changes is rather vague, as the official patch notes merely state “further improvements to overall system stability” along with “other minor adjustments” meant to improve the user experience....

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack launched in October 2021 with access to nine N64 games, including classics such as Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Star Fox 64. Yet fans also knew seven additional games were planned in the first “wave” of support. The Switch Online release of Pokemon Snap on June 24 will mark its final N64 addition revealed prior to the Expansion Pack’s launch....

Nintendo spokesperson Ken Toyoda revealed that they were the target of an attack by LulzSec over the weekend. This report comes from Nikkei (translated by Andriasang) and it claims that there is currently “a plan from the company to revive other publisher’s titles on the 3DS as part of a strategy to bring new strong titles to the system.” The first title to spawn from this alleged game plan is none other than Sega’s Seaman.
