The Nintendo Switch was certainly the breakout success story of 2017. While many initially looked at Nintendo’s hybrid console idea with raised eyebrows, the tablet-sized device nevertheless released to massive demand and fan fervor. Switch consoles remained difficult to acquire throughout much of early 2017, but, despite initial shortages, Nintendo’s latest console still went on to break sales records. As of the end of January, Nintendo has already managed to ship nearly 15 million units and if current projections hold true, then that number is going to continue to soar....

Mario must harness the power of the “Cat Shines” to help defeat this rather ferociously huge version of his old nemesis, while Bowser Jr. is hoping to save his dad from the curse. A massive shortage of chips, semiconductors, and other console materials during the pandemic has led to Sony producing more PS4s to make up for the lack of PS5s. Nintendo has also been affected, but the company has apparently chosen to cut Switch sales outlook again for this quarter. The complaint came after a question from the former QA tester during a company meeting regarding unions which, according to them, resulted in their termination soon after. Nintendo of America denies the allegation, claiming that the choice to fire the employee was made after they posted sensitive internal information on social media. The QA tester shot back claiming the information they shared was left intentionally vague, and the post was being used as an excuse to let them go....

Because of the reaction to the stock shortages for the Pokemon GO device, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima has made a statement on the matter. Speaking during Nintendo’s earnings briefing, Kimishima stated that the company had not prepared for the demand for the peripheral. “Demand far exceeded our expectations and production has not caught up, leading to product shortages. We apologize to the consumers and distributors affected by this.” As well as apologizing, Nintendo also revealed that it is now expanding production for the Plus....

The rumor about Switch breaches began to spread yesterday afternoon when Pixelpar posted on Twitter that he suspects a breach. He continues to say that his account was accessed multiple times overnight despite having a strong password, and that many others were reporting similar problems recently as well with accounts being accessed from Russia and more. Alabama did have a few unnecessary penalties at the end of the game but to be fair Arkansas is a good team so it’s best to take the win and get out of there. Look at that passion and it’s only the first quarter. Who wouldn’t have high expectations for a team with that coach? I’m a Georgia fan and almost want to root for them on that gif alone....
